Twenty-five years in recruiting has taught me that technology, opportunities change, and even candidate reviews change. I started in an era of handwritten notes, mailed resumes and fax machines. Today, the opportunities move faster, sometimes at the speed of a text message, but the fundamentals remain exactly the same: understanding people, building trust and making connections that last are the heart of successful recruiting.

One of the biggest changes I’ve seen is how careers evolve. Twenty years ago, multiple moves in a short, five-or ten-year, period raised my eyebrows. Today, it’s more important to understand why someone made those moves and whether they continued to grow, take on more responsibility and advance their careers. The story behind the resume matters more than the timeline.

What hasn’t changed, though, is the importance of fit. Successful matches happen when both the company and the candidate share the same values, expectations and vision for the future. At AGRI-SEARCH, our goal has never been simply filling positions. It’s always been helping good people find good companies and building relationships that stand the test of time.
