With 120 years of history and a strong reputation for outstanding customer service, this company is looking for a grain professional who brings solid merchandising experience, strong leadership ability, and excellent relationship-building skills.
Led by a passionate farmer board who is committed to keeping the business strong and independent, this customer-owned elevator is deeply rooted in its community and dedicated to serving local producers of all sizes. The company has made significant investments in its future, putting millions of dollars into facility and operational improvements over the last decade, including additional grain storage, a new dump pit, leg, and other strategic upgrades.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on grain leadership position and understands both the commercial and operational sides of the business. To be successful, you will need a strong aptitude for grain merchandising and origination, a solid understanding of truck and rail grain logistics, and the ability to build trust with customers through daily interaction and dependable service. Strong people leadership, clear communication, and a practical understanding of transportation, grain flow, and elevator operations are all essential.
The right person will bring an entrepreneurial mindset, sound business judgment, and a forward-thinking approach to leading the company profitably and competitively. Just as important is a friendly, approachable style and the ability to develop meaningful relationships with both current and prospective customers.
You will inherit a talented and dedicated team with deep experience in the business. The outside operations group is especially strong, stable, knowledgeable, and highly capable in managing the day-to-day elevator operations. This position requires someone who values people, leads with fairness and integrity, and is willing to support the team while continuing to learn all facets of the business.
