Description

A well-established, growing, family-owned and elevator/manlift company in Illinois is seeking an Elevator Technician to support installation, maintenance, and repair of lift systems across the grain industry. This is not a corporate machine. It’s a tight-knit team where craftsmanship matters, people are known by name, and strong performers have real opportunity to grow.

You’ll join a small, fast-moving crew where ownership is involved, decisions are practical, and quality standards are high. Day to day, you’ll work alongside experienced technicians installing and servicing elevators and lifting devices, diagnosing mechanical and low-voltage electrical issues, reading schematics, and ensuring systems meet safety and performance standards. You’ll be hands-on—turning wrenches, running wire, troubleshooting components, and solving problems in the field.

This role does require being on the road approximately 50% of the time. Projects vary by location, and travel is a meaningful part of the job. That said, travel is compensated well, and the company recognizes and rewards the flexibility and commitment required.

The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of electrical and mechanical experience, can read blueprints and electrical schematics, and enjoys solving real-world equipment challenges. Industrial or elevated device experience is preferred. You must be able to work independently, communicate professionally with customers, and maintain a strong safety mindset. Comfort working at heights and in tight spaces is essential. A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation are required.

The company offers year-round work, tools provided, and the ability to grow your skills alongside experienced professionals. For the right person, this can become far more than a job — it’s a long-term career path in a specialized and stable industry.

Compensation includes a generous pay structure with full benefits, including 401(k) with match, health insurance, PTO, and overtime opportunities.

Do you want to build a career where your mechanical skill set is valued and your growth isn’t capped by layers of management? Are you looking for a stable, family-owned business where performance leads to real opportunity?
