Vic Heinold has done a little bit of everything in agriculture. He’s a jack of all trades; and if you know anything about recruiting, you know just how valuable that makes him to those looking for their next career opportunity…and those looking to hire those folks.
Vic loves agriculture. And more than agriculture, Vic loves people.
Grain. Feed. Agronomy. Politics. International feed ingredient sales. Recruiting. It may all look a little different on paper and certainly different in the day-to-day, but good people supplying the world with food, fuel and fiber is the common thread that keeps us all invested in this industry.
From a family ag business to the Indiana State Senate, to global sales and world travels to our team of recruiters, Vic hasn’t ever been one to let the grass grow under his feet…and that’s the story of this month’s blog: Vic’s story.

A Team at Work; A Team in Life
As I reflect on the past month in northwest Indiana, I can’t help but think about how lucky I—we—are to be apart of the team that we are on. At work, and in life.
We have been hit by multiple storms in less than a 30-day period. Storms that have created devastating damage to homes and properties and knocked power and internet out for multiple days. In fact, we have friends near us that were without power for well over a week. It has been a tough summer for storms.
There were plenty of concerns at home. We have young children, and with our daycare also without power, they were home with us through it all. There was storm cleanup to tackle, friends who needed help, and all the normal responsibilities of life that didn’t stop just because the power did. The list goes on.
What I wasn’t concerned about was what was happening at AGRI-SEARCH, not because my focus was elsewhere, but because I knew I didn’t have to be.
A lot of companies claim to have the best team in their respective business. For Brad and me, it’s not a claim. It has been proven time and time again.
Not one person on our team complained. There wasn’t one of them who didn’t reach out to make sure we were okay and had what we needed. And I have no doubt that if we all lived closer to one another, they would have been right there helping us. They prayed for my family, picked up my slack, and gave me the space to focus on what was most important during this time.
These are the kind of people we have on our team, at work and in life.
No one should have to face hard times alone, and no one should have to worry about work while they are quite literally picking up pieces of their lives.
This past month reinforced why we care so deeply about the work we do at AGRI-SEARCH. A job is one thing. The people you work alongside, the culture you are part of, and the team that surrounds you when life gets hard, that’s something entirely different.
If what I just described doesn’t sound like the team you’re part of today, maybe it’s time to find one that does. Because the right career isn’t just about finding the right job. It’s about finding the right people, too.
