Grain company in Central Illinois needs an experienced and motivated Grain Operations professional at a truck / rail facility who will take the lead outside and challenge the team to get better.
This presents an opportunity to work in a very nice, clean, and well run grain elevator in an excellent location, where you will work directly with the General Manager. They need someone who will take ownership in all aspects of the business and will run along side the GM and know that you are working together as a team. You will have the opportunity to learn all parts of the business including the merchandising and the office roles.
At this location, the successful candidate must be multi-talented and willing to do essentially any task needed to keep the elevator operating. This can include turning a wrench, repairing or replacing equipment, taking care of all the safety requirements, essentially doing it all as the need arises. You will be doing the work, not just supervising guys to do it for you. It is important that you understand the hands-on nature of this role, embrace it, and are excited to thrive in such an environment.
As the Operations Superintendent, you will enjoy the responsibilities and the freedom of this position, but also appreciate being accountable to your teammates to get things done well. You will coach, mentor, and oversee two (and sometimes more) team members.
Located very near a university community that offers everything in the way of entertainment, shopping, and education, this role offers a unique opportunity to grow professionally and learn the entire grain business.
Compensation will likely be in the $75 to 80,000 range for someone with the experience level they are looking for.
