A reputable and financially sound agricultural cooperative in Eastern Iowa is seeking a General Manager to replace their retiring GM. This solid agricultural leader will have direct knowledge of managing a diverse agricultural facility and will excel in communicating with customers and team members alike.
In this multi-division agricultural company, training, delegating to, and trusting other leaders in the company are critical. Building trust among the division heads in grain, feed, agronomy and retail, and motivating the entire team to success are crucial. Managing people and your time to know and do what needs done is key, as is being financially knowledgeable and responsible, including knowing how to budget and plan for the different locations and divisions to grow and stay competitive.
This individual will be a diversely skilled manager who enjoys working with and motivating team members to grow new and existing business and to build a positive, safety-first culture. Excellent people leadership skills, the ability to run two key locations, and a strong work ethic to set the tone for the team are all traits that will serve you well.
The successful candidate will have agricultural facility management experience from at minimum being a grain elevator or feed department leader or a Location Manager at a multi-site agricultural business. Existing knowledge or exposure to grain elevators and grain marketing, agronomy, feed mills, retail and fuel is ideal. The willingness to learn all segments of the business and the drive and desire to lead this company are a must.
