Sales Agronomist needed in east central Illinois and west central Indiana. This is a crucial role in promoting and selling products direct to farmers. The company's business niche are farmers who "mix their own and spread their own." This is not a "tin shed" role rather consultative sales that focuses on chemistry. The company sells all name brands and generic products and has relationships with all of the manufacturer's reps. Seed is also a part of the portfolio. The company has a house brand and also carries the LG Seed brand.
Your job is to create brand awareness and increase market share. The company has utilized farmer sales reps and now has decided to have a full-time sales agronomist in the country. You'll be meeting farmers in both Illinois and Indiana providing agronomic advice and solutions. You are not tied to any one company, so you'll be able to offer independent solutions. You will be responsible for developing sales forecasts and goals, provide training, and stay up-to-date with the latest trends.
The preferred candidate will have proven sales experience coupled to a BS degree in agronomy or related field. Professional communications and interpersonal skills are vital. You must be able to work independently and be a self-starter. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is burned out in retail and just wants to sell.
