    A thriving central Illinois grain company with an excellent track record is seeking a General Manager to replace their retiring long-term GM. With 100+ years of rich tradition providing great customer service, they need a grain professional with solid merchandising experience and excellent people skills.

    To win in leading this very efficient and large-capacity elevator, you must be personable, excellent at marketing grain and always looking to find new ways and techniques to market grain successfully. The ability to represent the company in a friendly, professional manner and deal with a wide variety of personalities during stressful times with patience and professionalism are key, as are promoting a safe working environment and having some knowledge of grain operations, storage, conditioning, and drying.

    The successful candidate will have good management skills, communicate well, possess solid accounting acumen, and be computer / technology savvy. Being a trustworthy leader to the team, a good listener to ideas and suggestions from customers, teammates, or board members, and presenting a good sense of humor that builds good customer relationships will help you quickly set a solid foundation for leading this company.

    Success at this company depends on a keen sense and aptitude for grain merchandising and enjoying transportation logistics and dispatching grain trucks. Previous grain elevator management is preferred; expertise in grain merchandising is a must.

    Led by a passionate farmer board that desires to remain strong and independent, this elevator is customer-owned, community-oriented, and dedicated to serving the local farmers of the area, big and small. They have made significant improvements, investing millions of dollars into growth projects in recent years and have plans to continue steady updates and expansion as needed to continue being the fastest dumping and best elevator in the region.

    The board desires continued growth and to stay up to date with equipment, technology, and profitability while remaining farmer friendly and providing the best service.
