    Highly successful, growth-oriented, two location cooperative grain company in Central Illinois is seeking to replace their long-time retiring General Manager with a well-rounded, multi-talented next generation leader. This individual will provide strong leadership for the future success and growth of this financially strong company; they will also possess an easy to talk to, energetic personality that makes getting out and meeting customers and doing business enjoyable.

    The successful candidate will utilize their grain industry and management experience, honesty and integrity, and passion for leading and serving people to guide and carry out the long-term vision for the company.

    The new GM must have strong grain merchandising skills and a solid knowledge of various grain marketing contracts and tools to assist farmers with their marketing programs. A positive, professional attitude with a desire to make changes for the good of the customer along with strong technical skills and an ability to evaluate and use computers and new technology in managing grain sheets, inventory and operations will be a big plus.

    Being the leader of a smaller company, this GM will wear many hats and be a hands-on manager. Communicating clearly and dealing well with team members, customers, truckers and vendors is critical. Understanding the operations side and being involved in all aspects of the business is also key in order to train new team members, oversee grain quality, and make plans for upgrades or changes to facilities as needed.

    This cooperative has developed a reputation for being the best service elevator in the area, from getting trucks in and out quickly to friendly customer service. With over 100 years of success and a loyal customer base that cares about their elevator, they desire to remain independent and to continue to provide the very best service possible.

    In recent years, significant capital projects have helped to make this elevator more efficient and attractive to a larger pool of farmers; they are well equipped to continue to grow and be a competitive leader in their geographic area.

    The Board desires to continue a steady level of growth and expansion to keep up with customer needs. The new General Manager must be a forward thinker capable of dealing with the challenges common to a country elevator and partnering with the Board in establishing a vision for thriving into the future.

    Salary will likely be in the $90-120,000 range based on experience with excellent benefits and a bonus based on achieving goals and company profitability.
