$40,000 - $55,000 based upon hourly wage plus overtime
Central Illinois family farm is seeking someone to join their family as a Farm Operator. Initially, this will be strictly farm operations, but does have the opportunity to evolve into more responsibilities.
Your work will be focused on the planting, caring, and harvesting of corn and soybeans. You will be operating John Deere and Challenger machinery with the latest technology and precision systems. This farm features a 24 row 1770 John Deere planter, 4700 John Deere Sprayer with 90' booms, John Deere combine, John Deere backhoe, and semi trucks used for hauling farm grain.
When you are not in the field, you will be working in a modern shop equipped with the latest tools, restrooms, and break room. Typical hours in the off season are 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with additional hours during the busy seasons. No Sunday work.
The preferred candidate will be someone who has large farm equipment experience, with a good attitude, who can work alone and unsupervised. You must be trustworthy and even tempered, with no bad habits that could impair your daily work. CDL not required at the time of hire, but you will be expected to get one to accomplish the work.
Nice region of Illinois in a community with good schools and nearby access to woods and lakes. The family will pay you an hourly wage, plus overtime, and a stipend for health benefits. You will receive vacation and personal days. This is a very nice Christian family farm with good values, character, and integrity.
