Full-line seed company is seeking a Territory Manager in east central Illinois. The territory extends east from US 51 to the Indiana state line and from Illinois 17 south to Illinois 16.
Your role is to work with sales representatives and build product confidence through product trainings and ride-a-longs, and will be charged with growing the business in the territory. This is not a direct sales role. It is focused on the dissemination of information, leadership, motivation, relationship building, and knowing key accounts. The goal of this opportunity is to make your team into the best sales force in the industry.
You will assist your team with sales calls, agronomy consulting, field days, customer events, sales trainings, and customer service. You will be responsible for developing and implementing business plans, grower by grower sales plans, and forecasting.
The ideal person for this fun and exciting opportunity will be someone who has a minimum of five years in the field sales experience preferably in seed or other similar type products. A BS degree is preferred, but is not required. You need to be someone who can relate with a young and relatively in-experienced sales force and be able to build camaraderie with your team and customers. Strong verbal and written skills coupled to excellent time management and prioritizing abilities will be needed to be successful in this role.
You will work remote and will not be expected to report to a location. The company will provide you with a competitive salary coupled to an incentive plans that will total up to 15% of your salary. The base compensation range is $70,000 to $103,000 based upon your experience.
