Description

The Beef Nutritionist provides technical expertise and field support to livestock nutrition sales representatives and beef cattle producers across the Southeastern United States. This role focuses on developing practical feeding solutions, supporting feed ration formulation, and assisting customers with feed program development that improves cattle performance and operational efficiency.
The Beef Nutritionist brings strong hands-on experience in beef cattle nutrition and feeding programs, with the ability to quickly provide practical, real-world solutions to producers and support over 20 sales representatives in the field.

This position is remote within a defined territory. The Beef Nutritionist can expect regular travel throughout Kentucky, Tennessee, Southern Indiana, and Northern Georgia along with occasional travel in North and South Carolina.

Technical & Field Support
• Serve as a technical resource for livestock nutrition sales representatives and beef cattle producers.
• Provide on-farm and feedlot consultation to support nutrition strategies and feeding program implementation.
• Assist sales representatives in diagnosing and resolving nutrition-related herd performance challenges.
• Support customer meetings and producer visits with advanced technical expertise

Ration Formulation & Feed Program Development
• Develop and balance beef cattle feed rations using formulation software and nutritional modeling tools.
• Design feeding programs for various production stages including cow/calf, stocker, and feedlot operations.
• Evaluate feed ingredients, forage quality, and feeding strategies to optimize animal performance and cost efficiency.
• Review and refine existing feeding programs to improve results for customers.

Experience
• Significant hands-on experience in beef cattle nutrition, feeding programs, or feed formulation strongly preferred
• Experience providing technical support to producers, customers, or sales teams
• Practical experience working with commercial beef operations
• Experience developing and balancing feed rations using formulation software

Education
• Degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Ruminant Nutrition, or related field preferred
• Advanced degrees (master’s or PhD) valued but not required if significant relevant experience is demonstrated
