Description
An experienced agronomy salesperson is needed for a large facility in north central Missouri. This role is open due to an upcoming retirement of a successful and longtime employee.
The company offers a full-line of agronomy, seed, and chemistry products accompanied with full service application and NH3. The facilities are current and rolling stock is either new or late model. Ideally, they would like to hire now and have you shadow the current person for a period of time for you to get to know the customers and the trade territory.
The role is broken down into three categories. Nearly 50% of your time will be customer facing. You will work with your farmers to develop business plans; offer product solutions; scout fields, and be a source of information and product knowledge. 30% of your time will oversee plant logistics and dispatch. You will work with your customers to get product applied in a timely manner. Knowledge of application and plant operations will be helpful. The remainder of your time will be overseeing your budget, goals, and other tasks required for you to be successful.
The preferred candidate will have had a background in sales and operations. A strong knowledge of chemistry and seed will be helpful. Geographically, this role is located near areas with access to fishing, hunting, college sports, and professional sports teams. The company offers you a highly competitive benefits package. You will have an aggressive 401K and pension plan coupled to medical, dental, vision, PTO, HSA, plus long and short term disability. Compensation will be a combination of salary and bonus based upon performance. You can expect a salary of $70,000 to $95,000 based upon your experience. Total comp will be more. Contact Jim Fleming.
