Description
We have been engaged by a reputable risk management company in northern Illinois who is seeking an experienced Grain Marketing Consultant to join their growing team. This company prides itself on offering an excellent work life balance for their team members while providing top notch service to their clients.
The ideal candidate will be an energetic and passionate leader with a commitment to sales and service excellence. This person will have a high level service mentality and be very detail oriented. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required as you will be working cross functionally as a team serving clients.
This position is highly focused on customer relations and leading producers through the entire crop marketing and planning process; customer relationship management is a necessary skill to be successful in this role.
Additional experience preferred includes 3-5 years in the agricultural industry primarily focused on grain merchandising and risk management. Ideally, you will have traded barge freight, talked to ethanol plants, and have at least some network in northern Illinois and / or central Indiana. You will need a Series 3 brokerage license in this position.
In this Grain Marketing Consultant role, you will provide grain marketing leadership by educating and guiding clients and executing their trades across all grain platforms. You would be more than a source of information for your client, you will be the key partner leading them through the process to secure their goals.
One of the unique attributes of this company is they do not have operations or grain handling facilities. You will sit firmly on the farmer's side of the table as their number one focus is the farmer's success. You won't miss another soccer game this fall or a weekend away with your friends or family, and you still get to work closely with the farmers you love!
An advantage to working in a small company such as this is the teamwork that takes place across all levels to help the farmer. You will be an active leader within this organization and part of something that is making a difference and adding value. This company has a strong vision for the future and that vision is one of the primary reasons they offer an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) so their team members can continue their legacy for generations to come.
This role is primarily located in northern Illinois. Ideally, this person will be in the office every day, but it does offer an in-office, remote, and on the road option for more experienced candidates; you and your teammates will travel throughout northern Illinois and Central Indiana to visit farmer clients.
Salary will be industry competitive based on experience. They offer a generous benefits package which includes health insurance, 401K, and ESOP.
