Description
An agronomy salesperson is needed to fill a role in east central Illinois. The employer has been in business for nearly 120 years and serves customer's fertility and grain needs. They are stable, profitable, and have a loyal customer base.
This role is sales focused with very little operational tasks. Your primary responsibilities are building relationships and becoming the face of the business. You will perform scouting services and learning the needs of each customer. You will provide product solutions. You will have access to a full range of chemistries and fertilizers. The company has NH3 and 28%, plus custom blended starters. They utilize drone and other precision mapping and VRT, and will provide training for you to get your drone license.
The company seeks a person who enjoys being with the customer. You will spend most of your time in the country talking to people. You must be a good communicator and be able to carry on a conversation, write well, and be able to use a variety of computer and software programs. Ideally, they would like to hire someone experienced in agronomy retail with an AS in agronomy or related field. Someone with a CDL is desired, but not required. You will be asked to get a CDL if you do not have one. Teamwork is important. You must be able to work in a team setting and jump in to help your teammates accomplish the task.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience who is ready to make a change from the "bigs" to join a team where you are more than a number. Facilities and equipment are current and in good shape. The company provides a good level of benefits, plus vehicle, and phone. Initially, you can expect to earn $65,000 - $75,000 base with bonus based upon profitability.
