6259, Dairy Services Representative, New York

The Dairy Service Representative is responsible for managing a designated sales territory for promoting and providing customer service to dairy farms. The individual will be responsible for consulting and building strong relationships with current and future customers to further support sales goals.

The Dairy Services Rep will act as a liaison between the feed mill and dairy farm operation. This person must be able to manage credit extended to customers. With sales being the main function of this position, they are responsible for selling calf feed & milk replacer, silage inoculant, and seed corn to dairymen.

The ideal candidate must be able to solicit non-customers to consider feed with this organization. Along with sales goals, this person will be responsible for providing calf clinics on farms to demonstrate effective feed programs, checking silage particle size and kernel processing score during harvest, and tracking corn seeding rates by field and harvest yield and quality

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, or a related field preferred
• Honesty, Integrity, Trustworthy, Self-Starter, & Assertive
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships
• Two years of experience in sales in the animal nutrition industry preferred
• Understanding of feed commodity values and sales practices
• Positive, self-motivated individual with strong communication, planning, and organizational skills; business acumen expected
• Strong computer skills
• Strong customer service commitment
