Description

An established, growing, owner-led general contractor in the agriculture and grain construction space is seeking a home office based Business Development Manager to accelerate growth and expand its footprint across the Midwest.

This privately held company specializes in large, complex, project-based ag and grain infrastructure builds, including storage and receiving systems, greenfield sites, fabric-covered structures, and ethanol-related projects. Known for strong project execution, repeat customers, and a scalable subcontractor model, the company is entering its next phase of growth and needs a true relationship-driven producer to lead the front end.

As Business Development Manager, you will own business development and relationship building with significant autonomy. This is a pure hunter role, focused on introductions, networking, and converting trusted relationships into major capital projects. You will quarterback opportunities from the first handshake through internal handoff, partnering closely with estimators and project managers while staying focused on winning work.

We are looking for someone who knows the industry, knows the players, and understands how long-cycle, high-dollar project selling really works.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An established network within the grain, processing and/or milling industries
  • Proven success in turning relationships into large, project-based opportunities
  • A hungry sales mindset with the stamina for long sales cycles
  • Strong credibility with owners, executives, boards, and purchasing teams
  • Excellent communication skills and disciplined follow-up habits
  • The ability to manage a broad pipeline of relationships and active pursuits

This is not a technical estimating role and not a small-job sales position. The focus is fewer, larger, more complex projects with meaningful revenue impact.

This is a new growth role, not a replacement. The right individual will have the opportunity to build a meaningful book of business, earn significant upside, and play a visible role in shaping the company’s future.

Are you a relationship-driven ag or grain professional who thrives on building trust and winning big projects? If you’re hungry, well-connected, and ready to be rewarded for performance, contact Brad Jansen today.
