Expanding agricultural company is seeking an Agronomy Originator / Customer Service professional who will serve a very important sales and customer service role for the company.
This business is healthy today with a solid grower base spread out over parts of four states. As the business has grown, it is now in need of a focused, full-time professional to take it to the next level by bringing additional quality farmer growers into the program and providing excellent customer service to all grower participants.
Your responsibility will be to work directly with farmers to originate acres and promote an attractive premium-based specialty grains program. You will support the growers with agronomic knowledge and resources as needed, coordinate seed-related activities, complete the needed paperwork and records, and partner with the growers to make sure proper growing techniques and program requirements are carried out.
You will visit farms, multiple times each year to inspect growing crops, confirm harvest results, and cultivate ongoing relationships with the growers. You will work with multiple seed companies, not be selling seed; as a neutral party, you will be providing grower tips and information to make sure farmers are planting the best seed that is right for them in their geography and on their soils.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of seed / agronomic sales experience and solid agronomic understanding and experience through previous work or educational experience. This will help you bring value to the growers as they continue to learn and improve their techniques.
Compensation will likely be a base of $75-85,000 with excellent benefits and an exceptional incentive program. That incentive will be based on your ability to bring acres into the program and producers successfully following the growing requirements. There is no upside limit on compensation, and you will have a solid list of current growers and an extensive contact list to work from.
This is a "work remote" opportunity with the ideal geography to live within two to three hours of Kansas City. There will be a lot of flexibility and a need to travel some, whatever it takes to be successful and efficient; there should not be a significant amount of overnight travel.
Do you have agronomic / seed sales experience and the energy and motivation to grow professionally and expand a successful business? Are you organized and thrive on answering calls immediately and providing prompt customer service? If yes, contact Dave Allen (dave@agri-search) today!
