Indiana cooperative is seeking an Agronomy Location Manager. This role is based in north west Indiana and is conveniently nestled near metropolitan areas that have excellent quality of life, schools, and midwestern values.
This facility has eight full-time employees and does approximately $11.0M in sales and is a profitable location. The team provides products and services on 62,000 acres and sells nearly 12,000 tons of fertilizer. There is excellent growth potential with a special emphasis placed on growth in seed.
The manager is responsible for all of the day to day parts of the business. You will manage the team and assign all work. This role will require you to create and manage the budget, oversee P & L, track inventory, forecast, and manage all assets for the plant. You'll work closely with your sales team to grow sales. You will assign accounts, scout fields, make recommendations and track customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience managing an agronomy retail plant coupled to solid agronomy experiences. A business acumen with an understanding of financial reports, budgeting, forecasting, and inventory are important parts of this role. You will need experience managing people and exhibit the ability to delegate and prioritize. You will need a valid driver's license and have a 1A and a Category 14 license. An AS or BS degree in agriculture or a related field will be important to your success.
This role is open due to an internal move of the previous manager. Advancement potential is very good. The company has excellent benefits, compensation with incentives, vehicle, cellphone, iPad, and laptop. You can expect a base compensation of $85,000 to $100,000.
