Description

Illinois based agribusiness is seeking a Seed Division Manager. This person will oversee all day to day operations, manage staff, and be fully responsible for P & L.

Managing and understanding business practices, reports, and leading a team are two of the most important responsibilities associated with this role. Your team will consist of sales, warehouse and operations, and administrative. You will be the point of contact for seed company representatives. You will keep track of inventory, orders, and programs designed to enhance sales. Your goal is to create a level of profitability while ensuring farmer customers receive a high level of service and support.

The business has been in existence for nearly 25 years. Facilities are stand alone complete with seed storage warehouses, bulk bins, seed treatment facilities, and packaging. Most sales are done in the country face to face with the customers. There will be walk ins and phone orders too.

You will provide leadership in locating side by side test plots and hosting field days and plot tours. Experience with agronomy practices, IPM, and seed treatments will be helpful. You must have a valid driver's license and be able to get a CDL. The company will furnish you the training needed to get your CDL.

As the division manager, you will work closely with the Agronomy Manager in developing budgets, forecasts, goals, and market strategy. Good computer skills are vital for this career opportunity. This is a key role in the management of the business.

The company seeks an individual with a minimum of three years in a ag sales role. You must exhibit business management skills, people management skills, and work with minimal supervision. A management track record is far more important than an educational level. You must be someone who is open and transparent with company leaders and employees.

You will be provided benefits and a vehicle. Compensation will be competitive with bonuses paid based upon company and division profits. You can expect to earn $80,000 to $130,000 based upon your level of experiences.
