Description

Thriving northern Illinois grain company is seeking a valued team member who wants to focus on grain operations while learning all aspects of the grain business (outside and in the office) and be a part of a very family-oriented atmosphere.

This is an ideal situation for an operations candidate who enjoys operations but would like to gradually flip-flop your career from outside to inside and learn all aspects of what goes on in the office of a grain business.

In this role, you will work side-by-side with all team members, including the General Manager, in learning and doing a variety of roles that happen in a grain facility. You will start out working primarily outside, assisting with all aspects of the operations from watching a tank if a teammate is inside to assisting with unloading trucks or loading trains.

Beginning in year one, you will begin learning inside roles, including checking margin calls and wiring money out, cutting checks to customers for grain deliveries, answering the phone, originating grain and relating to customers throughout the day, learning to merchandise grain, paying bills and doing other accounting as needed, and helping at the scales when needed to grade trucks and weigh them in and out. If safety is your passion, helping update their safety program could be a top priority for you.

This company is willing to train and teach. Some grain operations experience is highly desired. An experienced professional looking for a fresh start on a great grain team is perfect. The key is, that you must be flexible and willing to pitch in and do whatever it takes to help the team get through the day. At this company, it truly is a team effort.

Salary is negotiable and will likely be in the $60,000 to $75,000 range based on experience along with bonuses, excellent benefits, and leadership that knows and respects that you have a life. This company is known for taking excellent care of their people and treating team members like family.

If you desire to be a part of a growing team where integrity and reputation are valued, want to learn every aspect of the grain business, and get rewarded for success, this is an opportunity you will want to explore. Contact Jill Bushue ([email protected]) or Dave Allen ([email protected]) today.
