Description
Successful and growing grain company is seeking a Grain Location Manager Trainee for one of their modern and well-maintained facilities. The successful candidate will be able to come into one of their locations and train to ultimately step into a Location Manager role.
Although 80-90% of your time will be inside the elevator office, you will have the opportunity to learn everything both inside and outside the elevator. You will be dealing with customers each day, buying grain, doing settlements, and hedging the grain. You will learn to both originate and merchandise grain and will potentially do some merchandising once you have the knowledge and confidence to do so.
You will also get to learn all aspects of the outside operations; from time to time you will help the outside team on projects to understand what is going on. In addition, time will also be spent in offices at other locations to learn other angles of the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a new or recent college grad or a grain operations professional who wants to learn the inside aspects of the grain business and become a Location Manager. The successful candidate will desire to be trained and appreciate an opportunity to grow in the grain industry. Whoever is chosen will be an important part of a professional and successful team and have ample opportunities for continued growth within the company.
The ideal candidate must be open-minded and willing to work with and learn from other team members, self-motivated, and a good team player who understands the need to be flexible to do what needs to be done. You must also be very customer-friendly with the desire to work with and get along with farmer customers.
Salary to start will likely be in the $50-$65,000+ range plus benefits. For more experienced candidates, compensation can be higher, in particular for an outside grain professional looking to move to the inside.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone seeking a very family-oriented company and desiring to stay or move back to Central Illinois. You will join a company where you can settle in a variety of quality communities, grow your career long-term, and not worry about having to move around the country. This position is just the beginning; it will open doors for you to have the opportunity to grow quickly, take on more responsibility, and not have corporate bureaucracy to deal with.
If you are seeking an opportunity to grow your career and enjoy a great team environment where people get along and operate more like family, contact Dave Allen or Chelbi Williams Alt for more information.
