Description
A Field Operations Manager is needed to oversee all field functions at a seed production plant in central Illinois.
This job is focused on growing and processing quality seed and has a wide variety of responsibilities. You will be working with the contract growers to secure acreage, sign contracts, deliver parent seed, scout fields, and oversee harvest activities. The overall goal of the job is to help the farmer to grow and harvest a quality and high yielding seed product. You will also be responsible for monitoring seed storage bins and scheduling product for delivery and processing. This job will also have you managing a team of workers where you will be delegating work and making sure the product processed and packaged meets customer quality standards.
The company offers a fun atmosphere with simplistic policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a farm background with experiences in a seed or fertilizer plant. You need to be someone with a high attention to detail and quality. This role has some sales to it as you will be soliciting acreage on which to place seed acres. You must be able to solve problems and communicate in a professional manner. You will be focused on quality and attention to detail. A two or four year agricultural degree is ideal, but not required.
You will be paid a competitive salary and be eligible for an overall company bonus program based upon profitability, plus be provided medical benefits, and be able to participate in a company wellness program. You can expect to earn $65,000 to $70,000 annually plus benefits, bonus, and vehicle.
