Description
We are seeking a Branch Manager for an agronomy retail location in east central Illinois. This is a relatively new location complete with a new office, shop facilities, and dry building. The branch offers a full-service line up coupled to custom application of dry, liquid, and NH3.
A branch manager is responsible for a multitude of functions. First, your job is to make sure your employees are performing at their maximum efficiency and safe. You will recruit, hire, train, and evaluate your team. You will work with your division staff to determine your personnel needs. Second, you will be responsible for customer satisfaction and making sure their needs are met in a timely manner. Third, you will oversee the branch and determine capital needs and repairs. In addition, you may sell product and operate equipment in the field or make a delivery.
The person hired for this role must be flexible and maintain a level of coolness to accomplish the tasks needed. You'll need to be a delegator and instill a level of dedication to your team. Agronomy knowledge is extremely important. A university degree is preferred but not required. A farm background would be nice. There will be times when you will need to drive a heavy truck or application, thus a Class A CDL is needed.
You will work with your Admin to prepare budgets, forecast, month-end, sales reports, and inventory reports. You will track inventory and replenish as needed, thus good computer and communication skills are vital for your success.
This is a hands-on role at the location. Geographically, you are in a rural community near three major universities. The region offers a good quality of life with excellent medical facilities, schools, and recreational activities.
There are seasonal hours that may require weekends or holidays. To be considered, you could have experience being an operator, sales, or a manager. The role does have options for growth. You can expect to earn a base of $65,000 to $85,000 with unlimited upward potential, benefits, and vehicle. Contact Jim Fleming.
