Successful east central Illinois grain company is seeking a Regional Grain Operations Manager to oversee multiple elevator locations including a hub facility that is growing with the industry.
This individual will be housed 60-80% of the time at a key rail loading facility while also overseeing the activities at five other locations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising 4-7 people on a daily basis (12-15 overall). This will include overseeing the elevator handling both corn and beans; drying, blending and loading out grain; and keeping the facilities well-maintained, operational, clean, and safe.
This person must thrive as a team leader who can motivate from the ground up and enjoy the responsibility of building unity among a dedicated team.
Communication skills are key. Candidate will need to communicate daily expectations to all team members, interact with farmers regularly, and work collaboratively with other elevators throughout the company to maximize efficiencies.
Candidates must have strong integrity, be a self-motivated leader who sees and gladly accepts challenge, and have the patience to work with and train other team members including part-timers at harvest.
Initially this leader will spend 80% of the time outside teaching and building a positive culture. Candidate will also oversee continuous upgrades and improvements to increase automation at the facilities.
Experience required includes: successful grain operations management, rail loading experience, 5-6 years of personnel management, and 8-10 years of grain industry exposure.
