    Description

    Seed company is seeking someone to fill a Research Assistant role with experience in corn breeding.

    This is a foundational role with advancement potential.

    You will be working with seed company partners in developing their parent seed lines. This work will be in the field nursery making observations and relaying information to seed company partners.

    You must have an understanding of seed breeding techniques and know what to look for when walking foundation seed fields. You may also operate plot planters and harvesting equipment and manage personnel.

    The job will require you to know the needs of the client and what they need to complete their product line.

    You must be able to speak and write well; plan, organize, and prepare plots for planting and harvesting; and have a minimum of three years experience in seed research or breeding.

    The preferred candidate will have a BS or MS in Corn Research or Breeding or related field, and a farm background will be helpful.
