Highly successful family and employee-owned Illinois grain processing company is seeking a Vice President of Grain Supply to replace their retiring VP. With over 140 years in the industry, this multi-location company has invested steadily in their facilities and people and is set for continued growth and success.

They want a leader in this critical role who exercises responsibility with humility and kindness, and who is open-minded with a broad perspective on grain supply strategy and tactics. Mitigating risk, gathering information, talking to key suppliers, engaging with growers, handling inbound rail supply, and being active in the industry are all key elements of this position.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of merchandising and risk management experience and enjoy solving challenges and problems as they arise. Grain processing experience is strongly desired. Being an enthusiastic learner is better than coming in with all the knowledge; having the ability to dig in and learn the process is critical.

To succeed in this role, you will have the self-awareness to ask questions when you don’t understand, and you will know when you’re wrong and what steps it takes to be right. You will be team-oriented and a clear and concise communicator. They have a phenomenal team in place built on trust and respect. You will need to be confident knowing you have the right assets and people in place and be trustworthy and willing to listen and share ideas.

This company has a strong record of success and is always looking for ways to improve. They are not looking for someone to be a superstar or save the company; instead, they are looking for the right person to be a contributor to their leadership team. The company is transparent with their employees; they encourage open communication and lead by example. They are good at what they do and are always looking for ways to improve the process and add value while being satisfied and staying within the boundaries of where they excel.

A servant leader is ideal for this company and will fit in line with their passion to serve their customers and the industry. The company values their team members as well as their capital assets and maintains a high level of efficiency. They have a good track record of improving their facilities and have seen steady progression. You will join a welcoming and aligned leadership team who works together to communicate priorities, opportunities, and ideas to continue to drive success.

The company is headquartered in an area with excellent schools and a lot of vitality where it is small enough to be personal and big enough to be well connected to anywhere in the world. You will be within easy driving distance of many big cities and attractions while having the comfort of a small community.

The Vice President of Grain Supply will receive a generous salary and bonus package and benefit from a very attractive retirement program that includes earning stock in the company. This is an exceptional (and rare) opportunity for a skilled leader to make an impact in a flourishing company with an excellent culture.

Would you like to help lead a constructive culture that motivates each team member to understand that everything you do matters? If you are a respected leader with a passion for merchandising and a hunger to play a key role in this thriving company, contact Brad Jansen or Dave Allen today!
