Description
Successful central Illinois grain company is seeking a Regional Grain Operations Manager to oversee multiple elevator locations, including a hub facility that is growing with the industry. The main facility loads shuttles and has a very favorable loading time agreement.
This individual will spend the majority of their time at a key rail loading facility while also overseeing the activities at three other locations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising seven people on a daily basis (~14 overall). This will include overseeing the elevator handling both corn and beans; drying, blending, and loading out grain; and keeping the facilities well-maintained, operational, clean, and safe.
This person must thrive as a team leader who can motivate from the ground up and enjoy the responsibility of building unity among a dedicated team.
Communication skills are key. The Candidate will need to communicate daily expectations to all team members, interact with farmers regularly, and work collaboratively with other elevators throughout the company to maximize efficiencies.
Candidates must have strong integrity, be a self-motivated leader who sees and gladly accepts the challenge, and have the patience to work with and train other team members including part-timers at harvest.
Initially, this leader will spend 80% of the time outside teaching and building a positive culture. The candidate will also oversee continuous upgrades and improvements to increase automation at the facilities.
Experience required includes 5-15 years of successful grain operations management, rail loading experience, and people management.
This is an excellent opportunity to step right into a growth facility with a quality company and make a positive impact. Most of the upper management team is approaching retirement and there is significant career growth potential with the company.
Salary will likely be in the $115,000-125,000+ range along with an attractive benefits package, company vehicle, cell phone, laptop, and bonus program.
