Description
Expanding agricultural processing company that is anticipating significant growth over the next few years is seeking an experienced HR professional. Ideally, you will come from a manufacturing / processing background and desire to come in and help create a positive culture while treating the company as your own.
You will have the opportunity to build an HR program from the bottom up, from company handbooks, policies, and reviews with supervisors, to taking care of all the employee benefits and making sure those are in place and properly set up. Developing incentive programs and planning company events and employee retention programs will also be a part of your responsibilities.
Payroll is outsourced; your responsibility will be to collect hours and get the information to the right place. You will also assist the Plant Managers in packaging their onboarding and training programs to make sure there are no holes and that every employee receives the same (and correct) information.
Involvement in recruiting for local entry-level-type positions will also be a part of this position. You may get involved with local schools and trade schools to make graduates aware of the opportunities this company offers.
In the first year or two, there will be a lot of heavy lifting to be done, and it is imperative that you are on-site every day at the company's main office. Once all programs are up and running and things are going well, this role could be more remote if desired with a potential 50/50 split of your time working from home and the office.
The ideal candidate will have 20-30+ years of HR experience and these responsibilities are second nature. You must see things in black and white and be able to create these needed programs, get them rolling and established, and then be able to relax a bit in keeping them up-to-date and flourishing. A mature, late-career HR professional who is highly organized and desires a fresh challenge is preferred, and this company is willing to pay for that experience.
Living in northeastern Wisconsin is essential, as you will need to be close to the company's main office so that initially you can be there every day. To do so, you can live in the region that includes Appleton, Fond du Lac, Green Bay, Manitowoc, and north Milwaukee so you will be within an hour or less drive to the office.
This multi-family-owned and managed company desires someone who is self-motivated and will come in and identify where the risks and holes are, and then execute a plan to shore up the HR program to be a positive, culture-building tool. They will provide a laid-back and professional family atmosphere where their focus is on growing and building a long-term sustainable business that provides quality, long-term career opportunities for their team members. You will play a key role in working with the Site Managers, CEO, and other team members to help shape the future direction and success of the company.
Compensation will include an attractive salary plus a generous benefits package.

Do you desire to be out of the corporate rat race and join a great team where you can create your own program in a smaller, growing, family-oriented company? If so, contact Dave Allen or Chelbi Williams Alt.
