Well-established and financially strong multi-division Ohio cooperative is seeking a General Manager who is a visionary and strategic leader. In this role, you will bring positive energy and the capability to think from a broad perspective with a long-term view while forecasting, planning, and implementing ongoing change.
Business management, fiscal oversight, grain merchandising (especially rail), and building a culture of accountability are key responsibilities of this position. Successful supervisory experience, including motivating and leading teams, setting objectives, and managing performance are essential.
Previous experience developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve short- and long-term objectives in P&L, market share, and operations is desired. Prior success in the grain industry and areas such as market share, niche markets, technology investments, revenue growth, and expense management are all key to achieving positive measurable results in this role.
The ideal candidate will be an outgoing people person who can build trust, work well with, and communicate authentically and effectively with all kinds of people. You must think out of the box to solve problems that arise and have the ability to understand and relate to branch managers, employees, and customers with variable personal characteristics.
This leader will be involved in all aspects of the business and hold solid cooperative values, even if you have not worked directly for a cooperative. You will communicate effectively with staff, farmer members / patrons, community leaders, vendors, and the Board, and you must be willing to bring new ideas and ventures to the Board and help cast the vision clearly to team members, customers, and the Board.
