Growing global commodity trading company is seeking a Spring Wheat / Durum Trader to support and build their North American wheat trading activities.
The successful candidate will merchandise Western Canada wheat from the company’s existing Canadian assets into US flour mills. As a ground-floor member of the North American trading team, you will also be empowered to develop and manage a trading book for Spring Wheat, Hard Red Winter Wheat and Durum Wheat and to support futures trading and fundamental research efforts.
This is an ideal situation for a self-starting trader who has traded any of the US and/or Canadian wheat markets and desires to build and manage a business unit from scratch within a flexible and entrepreneurial organization. You will be empowered to establish yourself as a leader of your business unit and to take market opportunities to expand the footprint of the business. As the company grows, there will be opportunities to explore other products and markets. To hit the ground running, what will work ideally is an outstanding go-getter who has worked for a large or mid-sized grain or trading company and has relationships and experience with the US milling industry.
Location is flexible but will depend on the candidate’s experience. The company has offices in Connecticut, Florida, the Toronto-area, and in several country locations in western Canada but remote work will be considered for the right candidate. Moderate amounts of business travel will be expected.
Compensation will be a competitive salary and participation in the company’s performance-based incentive program.
If you have an entrepreneurial business approach, don't need a lot of hand-holding, and would like to join a company with exciting plans for growth, a great group of people, and a really good work environment, this may be just the right opportunity for you.
