Well established and highly respected agriculture logistics company in Texas is seeking a Director of Logistics for their grain storage business unit.
The Director of Logistics is accountable for all business and growth functions including safety, staffing, new business development, future business planning and growth, strategic performance, financial performance, regulatory compliance, employee recruitment, and training, manages the grain operation and storage assets to ensure maximum equipment and associate utilization as well capital improvement projects for work within the facility. This company does have a 24/7 operational structure, so there will be the need to work occasional late hours and weekends, as well as travel up to 50% within the company’s operational territory in Texas.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent field experience,. as well as prior company or business unit leadership experience. Having knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and TCEQ permitting, and safety regulations is advantageous. Five years of management experience in plant or warehouse product storage is preferred as is a strong knowledge of grain storage and handling practices and grain conditioning and blending. Experience in loading, unloading, and movement of railcars is also a preferred experience. Above all the ability to manage a team and mentor and train incoming associates in the best grain handling and storage practices is important.
