    West Central Illinois, United States

Highly respected grain company in West Central Illinois, committed to long-term industry success, is seeking a Grain Originator / Logistics Coordinator for a key grain elevator location. This is an action-packed, enjoyable role for the person who thrives being where the rubber meets the road, is highly motivated to succeed, and who has excellent customer service skills.

This is an ideal "second career step position" for a successful grain professional who is looking to grow and take on a bigger career challenge. The successful candidate will work in unison with other team members to originate and move grain throughout their trade territory. In this role, you will be helping to develop the origination strategy and daily logistics plan, which will include responsibility for directing sometimes 12 to 15 or more trucks each day in picking up grain off the farm or moving it from facility to facility or to terminals and end users.

Consistent connection and communication primarily via phone with a broad producer customer base is key. Periodic farm visits as needed are important, and you will also be active in sourcing outside truck freight and maintaining good relationships with truckers and trucking companies. Having that knack for logistics, learning where customers and bins are and being able to take care of the trucks in getting them to the right spot, is also vital.

This is an ideal position for a grain professional who is wanting to go and grow, has gotten into the industry, understands basis and hedging contracts, likes talking with and providing excellent customer service to farmers and dealing with logistics, and wants a bigger challenge that has additional growth and upside opportunity.

This career opportunity offers long-term growth in a quality organization, with room to rise. The location is really good; excellent opportunities for education, entertainment, or for other family members to find employment, are nearby.

Salary will be in the $45-65,000+ range depending on the experience and skills you bring with you. Excellent benefits and bonus programs are also provided.

Outgoing, energetic individuals who really enjoy the grain business, want to come in as a long-term player, and are willing to do what is needed to chase, win and keep business at a thriving country elevator, please contact Dave Allen or Chelbi Williams Alt.
