    Description

Western Kentucky company that takes great pride in grain quality and their impact on the food market is seeking a Grain Merchandiser / Originator who will play a key role in buying and selling grain and providing outstanding customer service for this key location.

The position is P&L driven. You will be buying grain via truck and rail and buying freight, as well as managing the location's FOB trucking program. Picking up grain off the farm is a key element of this job. Inventory management at the location is also an important responsibility.

This opportunity offers a diverse variety of merchandising and originating opportunities. Your key focus will be building customer relationships as you develop a base of grain production throughout the territory. You will get out and talk to farmers on the farm and by phone throughout the year about crop plans, grain marketing options and plans, and other issues.

You will be teamed up with other team members who share similar responsibilities in other locations.

You will use your excellent phone skills to communicate continually with farmers, other merchandisers, and freight providers. Being on the phone is a big part of this job.

This person must have grain marketing knowledge, an attitude of learning, and a true desire to help the producers. Ideally, candidates will have 5-6 years of grain marketing experience. Local roots with an Ag degree from Murray State, Kentucky, or a similar school will be ideal. A solid understanding of grain options, spreads, and a variety of farmer marketing contracts and how they impact farmers and the company are also key.

This company has a long history and a bright future because of their commitment to doing things right and treating people well. They offer a quality work environment and have a reputation second to none in the industry. Longevity among team members is common, and they are looking for someone who desires a long-term career opportunity with exceptional growth opportunities.

Located in a beautiful region of Kentucky, you will have the benefits of urban communities and lots of entertainment and cultural opportunities within easy driving distance.

Salary will likely be in the $50-90,000 range, based on experience, plus excellent benefits and a very generous bonus structure.

If you possess the right skills and desire to grow in your career in a tight-knit working environment, please contact Dave Allen today.
