    An innovative and expanding grain company has an exciting opportunity in Michigan for a top-level, highly motivated and entrepreneurial-spirited leader with grain handling and people management experience.

    This individual must be a go-getter capable of overseeing and being the "on the ground person" for the construction of a major capital project; all day-to-day operations; hiring, training and overseeing additional staff to run the facility; ensuring commodities are purchased; setting up safety programs; and other duties to ensure the successful operation of this facility.

    This is a steady paced facility with a constant in and out flow of grain. Maintaining quality and excellent communications are key. Leadership qualities are critical for success as coaching, training and providing direction for employees is a primary responsibility in this position. It is a hands-on role, and responsibilities will include building and maintaining good relationships with producers in addition to supervising the operations team.

    The ideal candidate will have grain procurement as well as processing, manufacturing or operations experience. Being mechanically inclined; an out-of-the-box thinker; familiar with grain handling equipment, safety and compliance standards; and possessing a good understanding of process flow-through are all key.

    The successful candidate will also be mature and full of energy; willing to get things done; have solid planning and organizational skills with an eye for detail and quality standards; and desire to become a valued, long-term team member of the company.

    This is a unique and rare opportunity for someone interested in putting their stamp on a state-of-the-art facility from the ground up and who is seeking a long-term career with growth opportunities within the same company.

    An Ag Engineering or related technical degree is preferred along with proven and successful leadership experience in a grain elevator, processing facility, or oilseed crushing plant.

    This opportunity is also ideal for a leader who is in a hectic, high stress, high volume grain handling facility and is looking for a more manageable, steadier paced opportunity where you can watch something grow and develop.

    Compensation will be a salary in the low $100,000's range based on candidate strength plus an excellent benefits package and room for growth.

    The ideal start time for the successful candidate to start this position is mid to late 1st Quarter 2019.
