A financially strong Ohio cooperative with loyal workers and significant future growth potential is seeking a General Manager to take them to the next level.
They are seeking a trustworthy leader who is farmer friendly, an excellent communicator, and willing to listen to worker and customer problems and find solutions. You must not be afraid to take full control and hold the team accountable for reaching their goals. Understanding and believing in farm cooperative values and having grain merchandising experience are key.
The ideal candidate will have a solid agricultural background with experience in the grain and / or agronomy business. At least five to ten years of grain marketing / trading / logistics experience and an understanding of grain handling and storage are critical and agronomy operations and management knowledge and experience will be helpful.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining a quality team environment, including replacing reliable team members who will be retiring over the next several years. Maintaining the loyalty of the patrons and communicating with and listening to the pulse of shareholders, employees, and the board of directors will be key in creating a clear vision for the future of the cooperative.

Continuing to educate employees, updating software, providing valuable grain marketing information, implementing new technology, and finding new ways to serve smaller and larger farmers alike are just a few of the opportunities you will have in this position.
This 110-year-old cooperative is a stable rock in the community and is known for being a patron-based, profitable company with excellent workers. During the past several years, there have been a number of capital improvement projects that have allowed them to continue to provide excellent service to their patrons. New bins, new offices, and updated equipment have all been added. Their current General Manager is retiring and opening the door for this exceptional opportunity.
