Do you have a passion for clean water and good soils?
We are seeking a Resource Conservationist to fill a full-time opening in west-central Illinois. You will be working for a soil and water agency that is funded by landowners and the state government.
This role reports to a five-person board of directors who are elected by landowners. This role has plenty of variety. You'll be in the field surveying, designing layouts, monitoring construction projects, writing conservation plans and grants, and working with ag education students and extension. You'll be working closely with the Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Districts, State Department of Agriculture, and NRCS. You will conduct educational sessions and public presentations and do some fundraising.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have an ag background coupled with a passion for helping farmers improve their soils and water quality. You'll need ARC Map, GIS, and NRCS desktop software knowledge, excellent mathematics skills, plus have the forethought to work ahead of issues. You must connect with people.
