Respected and expanding northern Illinois grain equipment company is seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative / Grain Equipment Sales professional to strengthen their team in this hybrid position.
You will utilize your excellent people, telephone, and computer skills every day as you work with clients in the grain, feed, seed, and milling industries. You will be answering questions on orders, invoices, how the equipment works, and other topics. You will also be problem-solving and selling them the right equipment to meet their needs from this company's complete line of equipment, preparing freight quotes, and entering those orders or passing them on to the clerical team.
Relationship building will be a key part of this position. You will represent the company at trade shows periodically. Travel will be approximately 10% or less of your time.
This is a hybrid position if desired. You will be welcome to work full-time in the company office if you prefer, or you can be in the company office initially for three to five months for training, then transition to working from home and coming to the company office approximately one day every two weeks.
If remote, you will join in on weekly team conference calls and occasionally return back to the office for sales staff meetings. You will be sent customer emails and phone calls right to your workstation whether you are working from home or in the company office.
At least two years of ag industry experience is required, preferably in ag sales or customer service. A BS degree (at minimum an Associate's degree) in agriculture and exposure to agriculture most of your life or having grown up in a rural environment is preferred.
Ideally, someone who is a Grain Superintendent or Grain Location Manager will be a great fit. This background will provide you with a very good idea of their equipment and how it works and allow you to troubleshoot and understand the applications of what can be done to solve the customers' problems. Seasoned grain industry veterans who have extensive experience, good work ethic, understand the industry, and are looking for a fresh challenge are especially encouraged to apply.
Starting salary will likely be in the $60-75,000 range based on experience along with excellent benefits and incentives.
