Farm Manager is needed to lead and oversee a specialty oil-crop farm in southwest Arizona.
This is a "hands on in the field" Farm Manager role. You will be in the field each day plus will oversee all day-to-day management tasks.
You are responsible for the P & L of the farm and all employees. This farm has a Crop Supervisor, Greenhouse Supervisor, Nutrition and Plant Protection Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, plus 15 hourly laborers.
You will direct supervisors to be sure all processes are coordinated, plus oversee compliance, environmental, safety, and employee training. You will deal with vendors to determine appropriate fertility recommendations to produce maximum yield.
The background needed to fill this role is a hard work ethic, strong crop and agronomic skill plus farm management background, business savvy with good computer skills, and the ability to represent the company in a professional manner.
You MUST be able to communicate effectively in Spanish and English.
A BS in Agronomy, Crop Production or Farm Management and successful farming experiences is required; preference will be given to those from the desert southwest. This is an ideal role for someone who is currently an Assistant Farm Manager who is seeking to advance. To be considered for this job, you must have experiences with oil crops or citrus and be able to endure excess heat.
The company will offer you a compensation package based upon your experiences and benefits, and you will have the option to live in a company-owned home. Relocation and vehicle are also available.
$120-140,000 based upon experience plus benefits and housing.
