A thriving grain company located in the southwestern U.S. is seeking a self-motivated Assistant Grain Operations Manager who "takes the bull by the horns" and will help motivate and supervise other grain personnel while making sure the day-to-day operations run smoothly.
Typical operations offer diversity and a consistent mix throughout most of the year and include dumping rail cars, moving high volumes of feed products and loading out trucks to deliver to end users including dairies and other livestock operations. You will also assist with the management of maintaining grain quality and the upkeep of storage facilities.
This is an exceptional opportunity for candidates looking to expand their grain knowledge and work outside in a warmer climate where there will be no frozen hopper car lids or iced up equipment.
The ideal hire will be a leader with grain operations experience (the more the better) who is teachable and self-motivated with an upbeat attitude and wants to work, lead, teach and learn.
Typical hours are a 40 hour work week although longer harvest hours typically lasting about 8 weeks are expected but are not excessive.
This position offers a good work environment with lots of freedom within a quality company. They have fair, appreciative ownership and leadership and are not a big conglomerate with massive bureaucracy and lots of headaches.
Love the outdoors? This is perfectly suited for the person or family that appreciates and wants to enjoy the outdoors. You will be located in a beautiful area within easy reach of mountains for hiking and snow skiing; flatlands for riding quads; elk, deer, bear, mountain lion, quail, pheasant, dove and about any kind of hunting you can imagine; fishing in reservoirs or in mountain streams; water skiing; and still be within an easy drive to all the benefits of an upbeat, thriving city.
Pay will be salaried, likely starting in the $50-60,000 range, with a generous bonus program and benefit package.
